As Adam Breed of Lockheed Martin confirmed yesterday, Prepar3D v4.4 will be released today. The most important change will be the first use of PBR (Physical Based Rendering). This technique, which X-Plane 11 has been using since its release, allows the lighting engine to react differently to existing light. A metallic surface, for example, reflects much more strongly than bricks. Furthermore, the update offers an improved representation of water, improved speedtrees, an increased autogen range and the possibility to activate or deactivate add-ons while running the simulator. Prepar3D v4.4 is scheduled to be released today, November 28, 2018. As usual, all owners of Prepar3D v4 can download the update free of charge.
