In their latest Roadmap, the team of Hifi Simulation Technologies have officially announced Active Sky XP. Thus their most popular weather tool will now come for the first time for X-Plane 11. The release can already be expected in December – but initially only as a weather program without custom cloud models. Instead the program uses the standard clouds of X-Plane 11, with optional exchange textures in high resolution.

New cloud models are therefore not expected to come until the fourth quarter of 2019. The reasons for this are performance considerations and pending changes at important interfaces. In all probability, Active Sky XP will cost around $40 US and will initially only be compatible with Windows 10. Hifi Technologies also wants to support other operating systems in the future. Further information can also be found on the preliminary product page.
