Developers of FSX and Prepar3D aircraft who have already thought about flotizing their models for X-Plane 11 will now receive clear instructions for a Aircraft conversion from Dino Cattaneo (IndiaFoxtEcho Visual Simulations). The 24-page PDF document has been available for download on his website since August 20. According to Dino Cattaneo, he created the manual during the ongoing conversion of his SIAI-Marchetti S.211 to pass on the knowledge he learned to other developers.

The guide assumes that the 3D model of the aircraft already exists in 3DS Max and that the object exporter of Step2Sky is installed. In addition, you should have some basic knowledge of X-Plane’s Plane Maker tool. Due to a lack of time, however, Dino Cattaneo could not provide any further help on X-Plane 11, as he writes in his blog post. Nevertheless, the clear instructions for one or the other developer will surely turn out to be extremely helpful.
