The Aerobask Dassault Falcon 8X for X-Plane 12 was released yesterday. The add-on promises a detailed recreation of Dassault Aviation’s flagship aircraft. It is available for around 87 USD from the X-Plane.org Store. And it seems this item has really been in high demand within the community. In fact, within just a few hours of its release, it kept causing the shop to crash.

Public beta release – sales apparently halted again

After only a short time, the Falcon 8X kept disappearing briefly from the shop; the price was raised to 8,888 US dollars, presumably to discourage further sales, or the product was taken off sale altogether. It appears that a specific allocation had been set aside for the public beta, which seems to have been exhausted in no time at all.

It is truly questionable why this wasn’t clearly communicated in advance, why a product is (apparently) being sold at full price for the beta test, and why there is such chaos once the quota threshold has been reached.

Unfortunately, those who missed out can currently do little but wait – we’ll keep you updated.
